New York Central No. 6721 is a class B-11k 0-6-0 steam locomotive built at Alco’s Schenectady, NY, works in 1913 for the New York Central System as #621. It was later renumbered as #6721 in 1936. The 6721 was sold to the Central Illinois Public Service Company at Hutsonville, IL, in 1953, where it was renumbered #7.

2019年2月9日 · It was damaged by a runaway hopper in July 2015. You can view the latest on the loco and tender in the You Tube video provided by the Utica & Mohawk Valley Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society showing the tender being prepared to be trucked to Dunkirk, NY for repairs. This is one of the few NYC locos and tenders still in existence.

2016年1月25日 · Six months after a runaway covered hopper off the NYS&W collided with New York Central 0-6-0 6721, the locomotive remains at Utica, NY's Union Station awaiting repairs. Insurance negotiations are ongoing. Photo taken this morning.

2020年7月27日 · See here: The track 6721 sat on was connected to the active rail lines, and the hopper managed to run down it - hitting the front of 6721, pushing it and its tender backwards into the pedestrian bridge of Utica Station complex.

2020年10月19日 · For those not aware, #6721 had been looking scruffy for many years, but then on "Tuesday July 21, 2015 a hopper car loaded with plastic pallets ended up becoming a runaway, smashed through the track bumper and crashed head on into a steam locomotive that’s on display and drove it 20 feet into the stairwell portion of the pedestrian walkover.
