NABA Inc.’s Accounting Career Awareness Program and the Accelerated Career Awareness Program (ACAP) empower high school students to explore career pathways in accounting, finance, entrepreneurship and related business fields through a week-long residency at a college or university supported by year-round programming.

ACAP (Accelerated Career Awareness Program) is a one-week residency program for high school students (all grade levels) interested in a career in accounting and other business-related fields. ACAP is a program sponsored by the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA).

The Accounting Career Awareness Program and the Accelerated Career Awareness Program (ACAP) is a unique pipeline from high school to college that allows students to become prepared and informed about the expectations of college life.

ACAP is a unique experience designed to inspire diverse high school students to attend college, and pursue a career in accounting and related fields, like finance and entrepreneurship. We are looking for smart, motivated, engaged students. You’ll spend one week on the TCU campus over the summer, getting a taste of the college experience.

It puts in the NABA pipeline to help build future Black Business Leaders, with a focus on directing them to majoring in accounting, finance and its related business fields, including entrepreneurship.

ACAP® helps build future Black Business Leaders, with a focus on directing them to majoring in accounting, finance and its related business fields, by offering year-round programming and resources including college tours, internship opportunities, college and career readiness, and a one-week residency at a college or university.

ACAP began in 1980 when NABA recognized the need for a program that would direct African-Americans and other minorities towards the accounting and finance profession. Recognizing that preparation for a professional career begins in middle and high school, NABA designed a pilot program that would be informative, yet go beyond words.
