Nectin - Wikipedia
Nectins and Nectin-like molecules (Necl) are families of cellular adhesion molecules [1] involved in Ca 2+-independent cellular adhesion. [2] [3] Nectins are ubiquitously expressed and have adhesive roles in a wide range of tissues such as the adherens junction of epithelia or the chemical synapse of the neuronal tissue.

Nectin family of cell-adhesion molecules: structural and ... - PubMed
A number of cell surface molecules contribute to cell-cell adhesion, and the dysfunction of adhesive processes underlies numerous developmental defects and inherited diseases. The nectins, a family of four immunoglobulin superfamily members (nectin-1 to -4), interact through their extracellular domains to support cell-cell adhesion.
Nectin family of cell-adhesion molecules: structural and molecular ...
We review current structural and molecular knowledge of nectin recognition processes, with a focus on the biochemical and biophysical determinants of affinity and selectivity that drive distinct nectin associations. These proteins and interactions are discussed as potential targets for immunotherapy.

Nectin and nectin-like cell adhesion molecules (collectively referred as nectin family henceforth) are known to mediate cell-cell adhesion and related functions. While current...
Nectin and nectin-like molecules: biology and pathology
Nectins and nectin-like molecules (Necls) are structurally related transmembrane proteins primarily involved in cell adhesion. Nectins and afadin, the adaptor or anchoring protein, stabilize the epithelium and endothelium and establish apical-basal polarity of epithelial cells, independently or in c …
Nectin - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
Nectins are immunoglobulin-like cell surface molecules present on the cell surface that promotes cell-cell adhesion in a Ca2+-dependent manner. Nectins help in the synapse formation in the hippocampal region, as well as nectin dependent requirement of afadin (AF-6), which helps in spine formation [228, 229].
