This model can be seen in the new 81,000 s/f Oxford Middle School, which welcomed students in the fall of 2020.
Learning By Design Outstanding Project: Fort Morgan Middle School
Academic spaces are organized into three two-story pods, one per grade level, along with six shared, multilevel elective classrooms. Each level within a pod is the home of a team of 130 students and 5 teachers, each with their own identity within the school.

Thoughtful space planning is at the heart of this successful design, with grade level pods organized around a central core that houses shared amenities and specialty classrooms. The central media center features a three-story glass enclosed atrium, with stacked art classrooms, promoting excitement and engagement in the creative process.
Newton Middle School Campus
Each grade level pod was designed with centralized flexible learning spaces. Individual classrooms are equipped with large garage-style doors that can be opened so that learning may extend beyond the classroom.
Brunswick Middle School
The LEED Silver-certified project has six pods, organized by grade level and connected by a central collaborative area. Each pod has four classrooms dedicated to core curricular subjects: math, language arts, science, and social studies.
