2014年10月16日 · Here we describe a simple and accessible method for expressing and purifying milligram quantities of protein by performing transient transfections of suspension grown HEK (Human Embryonic Kidney) 293 F cells. The expression and purification of large amounts of recombinant protein complexes is an essential requirement for structural biology studies.

We found that nucleolin, a multifunctional phosphoprotein, binds in vitro to the c- myc G-quadruplex structure with high affinity and selectivity when compared with other known quadruplex structures. In addition, we demonstrate that upon binding, nucleolin facilitates the formation and increases the stability of the c- myc G-quadruplex structure.
