Memorandum of Accommodation (MOA) A formal letter that is developed during the interactive process which lists any approved accommodations and guides the process of implementing identified accommodations in the College setting. Access to accommodations is a shared responsibility between faculty and staff and the student.

A student with a Memorandum of Accommodation (MOA) has the legal right to have an interpreter in all college settings. If, for any reason, you feel unsure about granting access to an interpreter or transliterator, please contact the Interpreter Services Office immediately at [email protected]

Students can contact [email protected] with questions. The SDV ABLE Exam is a 90-minute timed test in Canvas and includes 50 questions. The test is taken with the Respondus Lockdown Browser.

THINGS TO REMEMBER - MOA ⮚ Accommodations begin when a current Memorandum of Accommodation (MOA) is provided to the professor. Acknowledge receipt of the MOA. ⮚ There is no deadline for providing an MOA. ⮚ Accommodations are NOT retroactive.

Northern Virginia Community College provides its Catalog, handbooks, website, and any other printed materials or electronic media for general guidance.

Students with Individualized Education Plan’s (IEPs) or 504 Plans must apply for a Memorandum of Accommodations (MOA) for their Dual Enrollment courses. Any accommodations for the NOVA course/grade must be on record at NOVA. NOVACard is your official ID for Northern Virginia Community College.

Memorandum of Accommodation (MOA): the official document prepared by an Accommodations Counselor in consultation with the student that lists the approved classroom and testing accommodations. The instructor and Testing Center personnel must have a copy of the MOA in order to provide the accommodations.
