Royal New Zealand Returned and Services' Association
The Royal New Zealand Returned and Services' Association, best known simply as the RSA, is one of the largest voluntary welfare organisations in New Zealand and one of the oldest ex-service organisations in the world. Wounded soldiers returning from the Gallipoli Campaign founded the organisation in 1916, and it received royal patronage in 1920.

RSA in New Zealand has a rich and varied history from its beginnings as the Returned Soldiers’ Association in 1916, to the honour of the appellation ‘Royal’ conferred by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the year 2000.

The RSA also welcomes applications for Associate members from New Zealand residents who, while they may not have served in our Armed Forces or Police, fully support the aims and ideals of the NZRSA. Joining the RSA gives you affiliation with a network of associations throughout New Zealand, with over 130,000 members.
