The Korg 01/W series are workstation synthesizers, the first of which debuted in 1991, and were intended to replace the M1 and T series.

Korg's 01/W workstation synthesizer debuted in 1991 as the follow-up to the popular M1. The 01/W was the second chapter in Korg's workstation legacy, which goes on to this day with the Triton and Oasys series. The 01/W was geared towards beginning home studio enthusiasts that wanted to take a step further into a more professional realm.

Synths ⇝ Korg ⇝ Korg 01/W. The 01/W can be expanded with XSC/XPC expansion card pairs containing a PCM waveform data card and a performance data card. The 01/WFD is an otherwise identical version with more sequencer memory and a floppy drive. It is also available in rackmount form as the 01R/W.

The 01 portion of the Cliff Canyon website was created in 1998 for two reasons: to learn how to build a website, and to document what I learned about my new 01/W. The website also served to promote my first book, the self-published Korg 01/W Percussion Manual. Unfortunately (for me), 1998 was also the year Korg discontinued the 01/W series.

Up for sale is this is Korg 01W Pro workstation 76-key keyboard with nice wooden hardcase in top condition ready to play. Its in really nice cosmetic condition. All buttons, slider, keys, joystick, LCD, OS system, outputs, FDD tested and working perfect. Some smudge stains on logo panel side barely visible that can be probably cleaned easily.

The 01W is the follow-up to the hugely popular Korg T-series which was the successor to the M1, but with much more realistic sounds (i.e. better piano). The 01W is like two T-series in one. It has a built in sequencer as well as effects.
