The American Library Association Student Chapter of the Library and Information Studies Program at Old Dominion University (ALA@ODU) is dedicated to the educational, professional, service, and social enrichment of the students of the School Library Program.

It is official: ODU's ALA Student Chapter is now recognized by the American Library Association (ALA). ODU's chapter becomes the 67th ALA student chapter and the first student chapter formed in Virginia. ALA student chapters provide educational, social enrichment, professional development and service opportunities on a local and national level.

2020年3月10日 · CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce that the Student Organization of Library and Information Studies (SOLIS) at Old Dominion University has created a new ALA student chapter. This is the first student chapter to be formed in Virginia. Each ALA student chapter has its own character and purpose.

Visit us at ALA! Library and Information Studies faculty will be in Washington, DC for the American Library Association annual conference June 23 - June 28. Stop by our booth 3111 in the exhibit hall to learn more about our program. In addition to ODU presence at the exhibits, ODU faculty are participating in the following events:

The Master of Library and Information Studies Program at Old Dominion University is accredited by the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation, with the status of Initial accreditation. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for Fall 2028.
