Zr.Ms. Holland is het eerste patrouilleschip (ocean-going patrol vessel - OPV) van de Holland-klasse. Tot deze klasse behoren ook de Friesland, Groningen en Zeeland. Op de boeg van de Zr.Ms. Holland staat de NAVO-aanduiding van het patrouilleschip: P840.

De Zr.Ms. Friesland (P842) is het derde schip van de Hollandklasse, een serie van vier patrouilleschepen (Ocean Patrol Vessels) voor de Koninklijke Marine. Het schip is eind 2009 op stapel gezet in het Roemeense Galați en is in april 2012 door Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding overgedragen aan de Defensie Materieel Organisatie .
