Offinso new town is the Municipal capital and it comprises about 22 suburbs. The Municipality lies within latitude 7°15 N and 6°95 S and longitude 1°35E and 1°50W and covers a total land area of about 600km2. Based on the 2000 population census, the population for the Municipality was estimated at 120,585 with a growth rate of 3.5%.
