2008年6月16日 · It's a VERY nice headphone section and very capable preamp, for sure. It's been a while, so I can't recall all the details, but I was very impressed with it overall. I listened with some HD650's and Ori's recabled AKG 701's. My lasting impressions were of very focused and well controlled bass, extremely detailed highs, and dead silent background.

2008年6月16日 · Though this is strictly personal preference, I prefer the OMZ over the original Benchmark DAC1 (haven't heard the latest) and the Lavry DA10 as a standalone DAC and also as a DAC/headphone amp combo single-ended.

Bass from OMZ is more than enough on my system, but I heard it a lot stronger on my friend's tri-amp system with 12-inch subwoofers. However, the detail of bass is half of other systems.

If you wanted the 250 ohm though, I’d suggest getting either a portable or desktop DAC/amp, like FiiO’s KA-1 (dongle), or Schiit Fulla E (desktop amp). Any DAC/amp should be just fine for the DT 990 Pros.
