May 17, 2022 · However, P0088 is high fuel pressure in the fuel rail. This is the exact opposite of what you would expect if the lift pump was bad. And if you have that code it wouldn't surprise me if the ECM would prevent starting. I'm still leaning toward the lift pump, and that's easy and relatively cheap to replace and is good insurance regardless.
