Jan 12, 2018 · The most common cause of the temp gauge falling is a bad engine temp sensor. If it's not that, it might be the thermostat. Both are easy DIY changes. The P0116 indicates it's the sensor itself. P1300 is "catalyst damaging misfire". It's related to the P0301.

Dec 21, 2010 · Sounds like the coolant temperature sensor to me. These control the gauges in the T7 cars - and also CAN throw a CEL often in an OG9-5 or OG9-3 with a P0116 - meaning a coolant temp. ciruit performance problems. I usually change the T-stat with the sensor when I do these on customer cars. Depending on the coolant I like to flush the system too.

I found a Engine Coolant Temp Sensor on eEuroparts for $8.24, but is there anything else needed? I read in one of the forums that I should also change the t-stat. Should I?

May 14, 2019 · MAP sensor is easy repair, it is located on air intake between air filter box and air intake pipe. The are usually sold as unit, but you can get just the sensor but you will need security torx tool for there is a center post which will prevent standard torx to remove the two screws.
