About 3 miles from the house pulled into an empty lot, put in my wifi ODBII reader and fired up ODB fusion on my phone. Had 3 confirmed faults, P0120, P0121, P0221, and 4 pending ones, all the same except also a P115C.

P0221 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch B Circuit fault. - The idle goes up & down at least 200 RPMS. NOTE: The M62 engine doesn't have Idle Control Valve to control the idle issue...

Nov 27, 2015 · Recurred this evening...finishing a 25 mile drive, and as I pull into a parking lot...the "engine failsafe program" shows up, along with the chime noise. Parked and scan for codes...same ones P0120 and P0221. On the return trip, the warning did not show upon start up, nor did it show during the return 25 mile trip home.

Drove it back home with no issues, once I read the Code P0120 Throttle Position Sensor A, cleared the code. Not sure what to do:dunno:, order the TPS or wait until it goes off again, any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Apr 28, 2011 · The P0120 code (and other throttle pedal related ones) means you have a problem with your throttle body mechanicals or sensors/potentiometers sealed inside the side of the throttle body housing. BMW and Bentley manual claim the electronics are "non serviceable".

I read somewhere that you cant replace only the throttle position sensor just the whole body. thats correct? also where can i find the tps sensor?
