Nov 11, 2018 · One last update: had again the chance to drive around a bunch, check engine light has not come back. So for future reference, if you get a P0170, before you throw on an expensive MAF sensor, a general vacuum test is not wasted time. The smaller vacuum lines might not make a big difference, but a bunch of small leaks do add up.

May 12, 2017 · As i am driving to work i stopped at the light and the rough idle was so rough that i threw the car in neutral to stabilize it. Drove away and BAM check engine light on and this time besides P0170,P0173, there was also P0130 (o2 sensor circuit bank 1 sens 1). So what do you guys think this could be? Bad MAF or o2 sensor.

Jan 11, 2013 · Codes P0170 and P0173 DOES NOT MEAN that you have a faulty MAF sensor as you already have found out. The problem could be that your fuel mixture is either too rich or too lean. That can only be determined by having the codes read using the proper scanner. Note the code numbers in the pdf indicating such information.

I ran the code(s). and The only code that came back was the P0170 (Fuel trim bank one - to rich or lean.) what I am thinking is pulling the fuel injectors and having them cleaned.

May 2, 2008 · MAF cleaning doesn't work 100% of the time but for $6 it's worth trying. For me, we had P0170 over a year ago and cleaned it and hasn't returned. Make sure you get a MAF from a reliable source. There are counterfeit MAF's on ebay that look the same, have the same part number but don't work.

Oct 21, 2020 · P0170 / P0173 usually is a result of an air leak and lesser likely a MAF issue. P0150 and the P0303 is possibly related to to the above, so you need to address the 170/173. Typically when there is an intake leak, the engine runs rough at low rpms (idle).
