May 20, 2017 · Hello everyone, I have a 99 ford 7.3 6 speed all stock (for now) except ts 6 pos chip and 4 inch strait pipe exhaust. Every time I run the truck, my check engine light comes on and I get a P0470 code- Exhaust back pressure sensor circuit malfunction. The check engine light will only come on once i hit about 1200 rpm.

Jan 17, 2021 · The P0470 indicates a max value reported to the PCM even at KOEO. Typically it is a bad EBP sensor as Tim mentioned above. That said, it could be a short to power, connector, wiring .... so inspect the wiring harness carefully. This code can cause a MAP/BARO correlation code (P0069). From my notes: TSB 09-24-03 does talk about a false P0470 code.
