A few comments, not just for this specific code but all codes in general: - While in the description it mentions fluid pressure sensor or switch, the codes does NOT say that the only possible issue is a bad sensor.

2023年8月23日 · Only occasionally does it actually trip code P0871 .. probably because I immediately let off the gas when sensing the problem. After stopping the pickup and turning it off, it starts and behaves normally. So clearly something happens that alarms the computer into a safe mode. In safe mode, it wants to stick to 4th gear.
