2004年4月3日 · The AN/PEQ-2 is an infrared laser (visible only with Night Vision optics) and infrared illuminator. At night, you ideally want to have your NV head-mounted so that you can see wherever you are looking. This makes using iron sights and standard optics difficult or impossible, though, so instead, troops use the laser to aim with.

2010年6月18日 · the15 can be switched to illuminator only. The 2 must have the aimer on in conjuction with the illuminator but the aimer can be used alone on either model. the 15 has a crappy red laser aimer and a nice IR aimer and IR illuminator. The 2 has only a nice IR aimer and IR illuminator the 15 uses a single 123 battery. the 2 uses two AA bateries
