(Also, just a quick note: “POC” means “people of colour”, so “POC character” and “POC actor” are redundant.

There are Igbo names and Japanese names and Hindi names and a multitude of names from a multitude of ethnic groups, but there is no such thing as a POC name. All “POC” tells me is that your character is not white. You need to be more specific. Not every black person has a name of African origin.

2021年11月7日 · I appreciate the point that you're making, but I want to ask about terms that are commonly accepted, such as olive skin or almond-shaped eyes. Are you suggesting that these common terms are also not acceptable in modern writing? Or just that non-POC authors should not invent new ways of describing non-white skin that compare the colors to food?

There are also a number of characters whose arc depends on the fact that they've been stripped of personality and names, but there are hints to being POC as well (in description of skin tone, and one of their names is revealed later).
