2005年5月16日 · I got some PPG Omni MTK9300 Original Equipment Black along with the hardener and reducer that go with it. I also got some DX685 flattener. The guy at the counter told me this was supposedly the flattener in the Omni line, but he couldn't provide me a mix ratio for the paint when you use the flattener.

I would prefer to this PPG mix because of it being much more durable but would like to know if anyone has any experience using this and how close is it to the original used by Ford.
How to get the correct interior paint sheen with...
2023年5月10日 · According to the PPG tech sheet, activation is optional, but supposedly will increase the shine, which I don't want, but possibly would still be acceptable. Diamont interior paint is meant to be activated, has anybody used it? How'd the sheen turn out? Picture of unactivated DBI for reference.
Hate to ask...engine bay black paint mix? - Vintage Mustang Forums
2006年9月13日 · Thanks for all the great info on paint, guys! As it turns out, my local PPG supplier only carries the DAR9000 in gallons, which is obviously a bit too much for just the engine bay. So, they recommended something similar and uses the same mixing technique to obtain the 20-30% gloss (eggshell formula) as DAR9000.
Paint Questions - Vintage Mustang Forums
2008年10月10日 · Scott, I spent the day yesterday working on flattening clear coat samples and got to where I like it. I will say that the ratio will vary on which clear you use. I'm currently experimenting with PPG's DCU2042 clear coat and PPG dx685 flattening agent. The ratio I think I like is 1: 3/4 ( clear : flattening agent).
Hood paint - Vintage Mustang Forums
2024年8月11日 · I used SEM Hot Rod Black. PPG also has a Hot Rod Black. No special mix, just us the reducer and hardner supplied. That being said I had the opportunity to view a couple of original paint cars and the OEM has less sheen than the SEM. But the OEM has 55 years of weather under its belt. I like the look of the SEM HRB. -----

2018年5月11日 · 40 parts DX685 (Flattener) 8 parts DCX61 (Hardener) 4 parts Reducer Sorry I didn't find that earlier, guys. I've been searching online with different criteria and that finally popped up. I'm sure it will be expensive to get this custom mixed at my local PPG dealer. But I painted my car with PPG base coat and I'm very happy with it.
