2024年4月10日 · With a 120hz display, a 40fps game would not have any issues since 40 divides evenly into 120. That's why some games offer a 40fps "balanced" mode that is close in graphics and resolution to the fidelity mode, but runs at 40fps instead of 30fps. This balanced mode requires a 120hz display to select.

I also have 120hz output turned off on my PS5, so even 120hz games will only output in 60hz max. I have played Hogwarts Legacy, which I believe is a 120hz game, but I have been playing it on this 60hz TV and I haven’t noticed a single issue with it. Everything plays beautifully.

2022年9月7日 · On the other hand ps5 can now pull off 1440p with HDR and VRR on allowing many more games to be played 120fps at these settings. So essentially the ps5 doesn't sacrifice framrates for quality - 1440p is my maximum resolution up to 27 inches monitor anyway so 4k is meaningless for me as HDR makes all the difference when it comes to resolution ...

Worth mentioning that PS5's lower limit for Variable Refresh Rate output is fixed at 48Hz (it doesn't do frame doubling the way PC and Xbox do) - this is a bit annoying at 60Hz/60fps because games with performance issues like Elden Ring semi-regularly drop below 48 and become choppy, but it works very well with games targeting 120 with an uncapped framerate because even if the '120 fps mode ...

2021年6月20日 · So for like Ragnarök, I was playing in the HFR 40fps 120hz graphics mode (VRR on) and the PS5 is limited to YUV422....when switching HFR off and playing in 60fps 60hz mode it switches to RGB (444)... So which would be better? Is there a big diff between YUV 422 vs RGB 444 at 120hz/40fps vs 60hz/60fps?

2020年11月14日 · « PS5 supports VESA standard 1080p@120Hz resolution. Some monitors don't have the VESA standard version of this resolution as a factory preset. Instead, the monitor implements 1080p@120Hz as factory preset in the same way they implement 1080p@144Hz etc (computer-supported resolutions). The PS5 won't recognize these kinds of resolutions.

2024年12月30日 · The actual 120Hz mode on PS5 Pro, conversely, removes all of the new features: the visual upgrades, the PSSR, and also that anti-lag VRR technology. In its place, Pro hardware instead runs at 1440p internally with the team's in-house TAA, using the same quality settings as base PS5's 60Hz mode.

120Hz is still running on the 1440p display - I checked the video output info on the PS5 settings whilst in game, and it says 120Hz. I also have an FPS counter for the MSI in the settings which will change to 120HZ or 60HZ depending on the game. So in conclusion, I can confirm HDMI 1.4 will support 120Hz.

Thanks for the help though, the PS5 being limited at 32Gbps is why the PS5 doesn't allow 4:2:2 and therefire 4K, 120hz with 10 bit, the Xbox Series X allows for it all simultaneously, therefore why I'm seeing a difference with the PS5 being at 8 ...

2023年11月17日 · Ps5 does a 40 fps tripled "trick" to do 120hz. Xbox does more of the last gen games at 120hz, and a few newer ones with120hz modes that are true but sacrifice resolution. Reply reply
