The Palm i705 was an upgrade from the last series of Palm PDAs to use the now discontinued Palm.net service via Mobitex to access the World Wide Web from Palm devices. It featured 8MB of onboard memory and an SD / MMC slot for additional storage or SDIO cards.

Weighing 5.9 ounces, the i705 is lighter, smaller, and sleeker than the Palm VII at 6.8 ounces. It has a silver-painted plastic shell and an overall U shape. The standard cluster of buttons is available on the front, and the power button is on the lower right side.

The Palm i705 was a PDA that included connectivity to Cingular’s Mobitex network. At launch it cost $450. It was the last of the Palm-branded devices that could connect to the Palm.net service which provided basic Internet access.
