Parmenion (also Parmenio; Ancient Greek: Παρμενίων; c. 400 – 330 BC), son of Philotas, was a Macedonian general in the service of Philip II of Macedon and Alexander the Great. [1] [2] A nobleman, Parmenion rose to become Philip's chief military lieutenant and Alexander's strategos (military general).

Parmenio (born c. 400 bc —died 330, Ecbatana, Media) was a Macedonian general usually considered the best officer in the service of Philip II and his son Alexander the Great. During the reign of Philip, Parmenio won a great victory over the Illyrians (356).

4 天之前 · Macedonian noble, the most respected general of Philip II. Active in senior command as early as 356, he headed the expeditionary force in Asia Minor (336) and eased Alexander (2) the Great's accession by helping to remove his colleague Attalus, the new king's bitterest enemy.

Parmenion (c.400-330): most trusted general of the Macedonian king Philip II, loyal supporter of Alexander the Great, but murdered on a false charge of treason. Parmenion was the son of a nobleman from Upper Macedonia called Philotas. The initial stages of his career are unknown to us, but he is known to have served under king Philip II (360-336).
