This process of rolling the sharp designs on the outer skirt pushes the metal outward around the design, making the skirt diameter larger.

2014年6月5日 · A piston that was a little loose in the a customer's engine's cylinders, or for oil holding reasons, was chucked in the knurler. A bar was used to rotate the piston thru a portion of a turn by hand. The air cylinder applied pressure to the knurls (worked by a foot operated valve).

2019年3月1日 · Clean up the old chaffed piston and run it through the Piston Knurler to swedge it back to a nice fit, and also dress-up the ring grooves so there is no binding of the rings. File the knurling on the piston until desired clearances are met, and re-assemble the engine for a fun day.
