Pniel is a settlement in Cape Winelands District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is a settlement and United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) mission station between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, established in 1843.

The Pniel Mission was established in 1845 by the Reverend August Wilhelm Winter, after exploratory expeditions from the Berlin Missionary Society (BMS) station at Bethanie. The missionaries had negotiated setting up a station with the Korana leader, Jan Bloem jnr.

The town of Pniel in the Western Cape, is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg and set within easy access of towns such as Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl, this picturesque little village was founded in 1834.
