List of rolling stock classes of the Kereta Api Indonesia and its predecessors (Perumka, PJKA, PNKA, DKA). All are for 3 ft 6 in gauge railways unless otherwise stated. This list includes both operational and withdrawn classes.

It adds that Javanese riders knew the class as passenger locomotives and, as Google translates, "Some people even idolize this locomotive because of its faithfulness to deliver passengers".

DD52 superheated compound Mallets are found on the hill section between Bandung and Tasikmalaya. Only one or two of these locomotives are now to be found in working condition. The F10 locomotives are deployed in East Java (and West Sumatra). These Hanomag and Werkspoor locomotives were built between 1912 and 1920.

The slides are arranged in class order, based on the present numbering system with a letter, or letters to indicate class, starting with 20 for tank engines and 50 for tender engines. Finally comes the locomotive number starting with 01 in each class except for the D52 of which there are 100 – hence numbering starts at 001.

As explained in the text, most Indonesian locomotives are numbered using the Japanese system where a letter indicates the number of driving axles, the next two digits indicate the class (10 upwards for tank locomotives, 50 upwards for tender locomotives) and the remaining digits the individual locomotive number.

PNKA 3' 6" gauge D52 class 2-8-2 locomotive No. D52.001 in 1970. This class had been supplied by Friedrich Krupp (Essen) in 1951, virtually a scaled-down Reichsbahn 41-class. This new series of images has been introduced to satisfy a growing demand for prints from our extensive archives.
