In this project I was tasked with creating a pop-up fold that represents an emotion through the use of shape, color, and movement. The emotion I decided to create was "joy". Practice Folds: These practice pop-ups were made to become familiar with the concept and get an idea of what is possible with pop-ups.

Symbolic Expression: The three-dimensional nature of pop-up art allows for unique ways to express emotions and ideas symbolically, making it easier for individuals to communicate feelings they may struggle to put into words. Pop-up art can take various forms, from simple designs like basic pop-up cards to intricate and complex sculptures.

This is a paperboard pop-up design that communicates a human emotion with only color, shape, and three-dimensional form.
