The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, established the school in 1972 under Nusrat Jahan (Service to Humanity) Scheme. It however became a Government Assisted School in 1984.

Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School started as a humble institution at its present site with a student population of thirteen (13) boys and a girl, with only four teachers, including the Headmaster. Initially, the school started as a day school until 1974 when it begin enrolling students from outside its surrounding towns and villages.

The Mission of the school is to create an environment that is conducive for all to unearth the potentials of students by offering effective, dedicated and committed services so as to become God-fearing and responsible citizens through the provision of relevant knowledge and skills.
