2019年7月27日 · Regarding the MPG difference, remember the Prius Prime is 700 pounds lighter than the Clarity PHEV, and as you noted, the Prime's advantage ceases to exist as soon as you want to go somewhere 20 miles away *and come back*, because the Clarity does the whole distance EV, and the Prime can't.

2018年2月2日 · Another issue with the Prime - all Prius PHEVs for that matter - is the limiter on EV speed. With their system, at 62.5mph (100kmh), the ICE automatically kicks in (at least on the 2012-2016). For the Prime it's 75mph. That's misleading, though, because the torque just isn't there in either vehicle - for whatever the reasons.

My previous car was a 2012 Prius Plugin which I handed down to my daughter when she needed a new car because the 2006 Prius I gave her became unreliable and needed expensive repairs. I was just going to go and buy yet another Prius and then I discovered that the Prime had only 4 seats!

The EV range approaches 40 miles (the claim is more than 50% over current one) and they claim a 0 - 100 kmh of less than 6 seconds, which is blazing fast for a Prius Prime.
