Prostki is a village in Ełk County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Prostki. [2] It lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of Ełk and 128 km (80 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.

The Battle of Prostki was fought on 8 October 1656 between the armies of Poland-Lithuania and the Crimean Khanate and an alliance of Sweden and Brandenburg-Prussia. The Poles won a total victory and captured the treacherous Prince Boguslaw Radziwill captive.
