2024年8月12日 · Probably designed for eye relief reasons since the PVS3 housing and ocular focus assembly is significantly shorter than the earlier versions, as can be seen in CowTownScout's thread. M14 mount shown in the below illustration from the manual. I wonder if anyone has comparison photos of both versions of the M14 mount with a PVS3-A attached?

2017年12月6日 · The PVS3 is a Gen 2 scope, and its batteries are nearly impossible to buy. They are a large coin cell, and they last only a few hours. There is a battery tray that is inserted in to the side of the scope, and I 3D printed a replacement to use on my PVS3 scope to use "newer" coin cells that are not mercury based.

2016年11月8日 · Nice grouping. I was collecting the NV gear too, and my collection looks an awful like yours, but I ended up having doubles and triplicates of the more common ones - AN/PVS1, AN/PVS2, AN/PVS3, along with some spare parts.

2015年5月6日 · The PVS3 is a "miniaturized" unit, smaller housing OD. The PVS3 has a single screw and a band to go around the tube for mounting and the PVS2 has 2 screws, STANAG spacing. I believe the battery housing and oscillator housing on the top of the 2 is longer than the 3 and certainly sits higher (difficulty for mounting the ring around the housing).

2014年3月24日 · Just make sure you get a backup M1a rifle, for your original M1a rifle, and then of course another 3rd backup M1a rifle for the second M1a backup rifle. Then keep it up till you get to 25 rifles, and also buy all the M14 spare parts you can find. Then spend money on artel, ART II, PVS1, PVS2, PVS3 scopes.

2015年4月1日 · I did all the possible scopes, and even a "fake" sonics suppressor, that was made back in the day (1970s). I collected all of the manuals, the original manuals. ART-TEL with can, M48 (later I got a M49) spotting scope, PVS1, PVS2, and PVS3 NV scopes. Not shown is the earlier I/R PAS-4 scope. Just how far do you want to take it?
