The 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 (5 cm Kampfwagenkanone 39 L/60) was a German 50 mm calibre tank gun used during the Second World War, primarily as the main armament of later models of the German Panzer III tank from December 1941 onwards. [1]

2022年1月29日 · The Panzer IV Ausf.D was relatively lightly armored, with the front face-hardened armor being some 30 mm thick. The last 68 produced vehicles had armor increased to 50 mm of protection on the lower plate. The 5 cm armed Panzer IV Ausf.D was built based on one such vehicle with increased armor protection. The side armor ranged from 20 to 40 mm.

The Panzer IV was chosen to replace the Mk. III as the next Panzerbeobachtungswagen. The supplies of Mk. III were beginning to run out, so ninety Pz Mk IVs were converted for this role. They were issued to Hummel batteries for the duration of the war.
