There will always be a meta weapon. The R-3 is talked about less because compared to previous meta guns, it still strongly rewards accuracy (unlike the rampage, spitfire, and L-Star), doesn't have insane burst potential (100-pump shotguns, triple take, wingman) or ridiculously low TTK (havoc, devotion), isn't spammy (longbow, wingman), etc.

Probably the right answer if they intend to keep the meta balanced. They have openly stated they want to challenge the go to weapons, which isn't a bad thing. Its just going to take some time to change the mindset of players who've played for a while and reach for the 'trusty' R301.

2022年3月10日 · From last season, the R301 had a body kill time on purple armour of 1.02 seconds, compared to the Flatline's 0.96 seconds. Since the post-nerf Flatline needs one more body shot, its kill time on purple armour is now 1.06.

2019年9月18日 · I use the R99 at medium range encounters over the R301. You can’t track or account for a randomness factor with the damn thing. Just threw a 2X bruiser on it in a game. 2,000 dmg (as a solo teammates dead off start) with 5 kills. Only shots I missed were medium ranged due to the randomness of the gun.

Ever since season 16 this gun is a shell to its former self. It is the weakest of the 5 assault Rifles and its not even the best "Light" gun as well (Most people would put Spitfire/G7 above the R301). The gun while easy to control, TTK is so slow compare to its peers while also having a smaller magazine size (especially with no mag).

R301 can also be helped out by using recoil smoothing. Not sure how hard jitter aim is on PC, but recoil smoothing is a very similar mechanism that’s a little easier (and possible on controller) Reply reply More replies More replies More replies More replies

Trust me when I say this, and you will profit. Let the R3 rot until they buff it. Use the LSTAR with a 3x or 2-4x. Its DPS can be pretty insane once you learn the recoil. I can use it up to 100m now and shred anyone that's not on a head glitch. I've never had such easy and quick kills in my entire Apex career, and I'm a day 2 player.

2023年1月26日 · Unpopular Opinion: If the R301 got nerfed, any Apex forum would overflow with the tears of the Diamond/Master/Pred players that now couldn’t reach that respective rank since their no recoil crutch got nerfed. There’s a night and day difference the recoil patterns of the Havoc/Flatline/Hemlok compared to the R301.

2022年5月1日 · R301 has virtually no recoil so it’s always reliable, a great single shot mode, deals good damage, has decent hip fire and uses the most common ammo type. There is never a situation you’d be better in without an R301.
