2015年7月11日 · R44 and R46 are the same length. The extra seat in the R44 comes from the smaller cab. Yes, the mainline R44s had the same cracks. Substantially worse in my recollection. Lighting fixtures: R44s had a metal brace in the middle of the downwards facing surface of each longitudinal fixture. R46s do not, (except for those fixtures taken from R44s.)

The R44 is a New York City Subway car model built by the St. Louis Car Company from 1971 to 1973 for the B Division and the Staten Island Railway (SIR). The cars replaced many R1–9 series cars, and all remaining 1925 Standard Steel built SIRTOA ME-1 trains, providing Staten Island with a new fleet of railcars.

2011年1月24日 · R44's were '75 footers, the same for the R46's. here are the differences between like pairs: R40 & R40M. -The R40 had a slanted front. -R40M had a more "modern" front, and look more like the R42's. R40M & R42. -The R40M: storm door-- notice the tall bulkhead window on the door, the floor is tan & the seats are a little shorter.

2021年2月19日 · The R32s are currently in storage, and the SIR R44s, and all R46 are still running. The R211 pilot train is expected to arrive in April, and production sets next fall. The R44/R46 will gradually retire as the R211s are delivered over the next few years.

2009年11月8日 · I actually like the controller on the R46, it's professional looking and it's similar to the single master controller on the MBTA Red Line 015/01600s and 01700s, althought their controller's logo is the big "W" for WABCO while the R46's Master Controller has my favorite logo of it's maker, Newtran, and it looks cute on the base of the R46 cab's MC
