Just bought a r730XD for some more demanding VMs. The fans on this r730xd are many times louder than the whole rack! Just idling in a windows install the idrac reports the fans at 43% speed (8.2Krpm)

Adjust cpu power settings in bios. This requires zero BS other than changing idrac and bios. This is a media server in my theatre room.
