Rafael (Olot, Spain, 1961), Carme (Olot, Spain, 1962) and Ramon (Vic, Spain, 1960) have been architects since 1987 by the School of Architecture of Vallès (ETSAV-UPC) and have worked together since 1988 under the name of RCR ARQUITECTES together with a talented team. They pursued a Master in Landscape Architecture (1987-89).

RCR Arquitectes is a Spanish architecture firm consisting of principals and co-founders Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta. [1] The trio were the 2017 recipients of the Pritzker Prize for Architecture. [2] While the firm had won many awards before the Pritzker, they were relatively unknown compared to other finalists. [2]

RCR is an integrating project whose origins lie in architecture but which is not limited to architecture as a discipline and integrates landscape, design, art, thought… and is also a transversal laboratory for ideas and a cultural space.

Rafael Aranda (1961), Carme Pigem (1962) and Ramon Vilalta (1960) completed their studies in architecture at the School of Architecture in Valles (Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura del Valles, or ETSAV) in 1987, and founded their studio, RCR Arquitectes, in their native city of Olot, in the Spanish province of Girona.
