The SIAI-Marchetti S.211 (later Aermacchi S-211) is a turbofan -powered military trainer aircraft designed and originally marketed by Italian aviation manufacturer SIAI-Marchetti. SIAI-Marchetti started to develop the S-211 in 1976 as a private venture initiative, announcing its existence during the following year.

It was established in 1968 as the Singapore Air Defence Command (SADC) before renaming to its current name in 1975. [7]

2009年10月29日 · Three Ex-Republic of Singapore Air Force S211 parked on the grass at Jandakot Airport with 14 more behind. These aircraft were based at RAAF Pearce north of Perth Western Australia with the RSAF Flight Training School. The fleet of S211's based at Pearce have been retired in favor of Pilatus PC-21's.

The S211 is an Italian trainer that can also be used as a light attack aircraft. The compact S211 resembles the British Hawk trainer/light attack aircraft and can be used for many of the same missions. It is, however, much lighter and smaller than the Hawk.
