Route 11, also known as the ConnDOT Employees Memorial Highway, is a freeway in east-central Connecticut, serving traffic between the Hartford and New London areas (which also use Route 2). Route 11 originally was planned run from Colchester to Waterford. However, only about half of the highway was constructed; one end is in Salem.

Nicknamed "Route 5½," Route 11 is a half-completed freeway following the busy Route 85 corridor toward New London. The missing link, continuing to I-95 in Waterford, would be about 8.5 miles long.

The new four-lane CT 11 Expressway was constructed to contemporary freeway standards, with 12-foot-wide lanes (and additional climbing lanes where appropriate), 10-foot-wide shoulders and wide, variable medians.

CT 11 is a short expressway extending from East Haddam Road (CT 82) in Salem to the CT 2 expressway in Colchester. It was planned to extend significantly further south to the junction of I-95 and I-395 in East Lyme, but the section south of CT 82 was never built.

Unlike other freeway plans in Connecticut, CT 11 still has a good chance of being extended, because there are few people in the way and a desire on Connecticut's part to boost tourism along the eastern shore.
