RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) is the state broadcaster of the Republic of Ireland. It began transmission on December 31, 1961 and is dependent on both license fees and advertising for revenue. The company currently runs 2 main channels: RTÉ One and RTÉ Two. The former channel used logos from this page until 1980 at least.

RTÉ2 is a free-to-air general entertainment channel operated by Irish national broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann which launched on 2 November 1978. And while Irish viewers may very well be sick of them, design wise they’ve stood up to fickle ravages of modernity for nearly four years now, something most on-air looks could only wish for.
