The units having conversation when idle, the animations surrounding all of their actions, and the impressive amount of detail all are things that definitely advance the rts genre.

Playing StarCraft 'right' is not actually fun for the majority of people, but if you don't play it 'right' you're stuck doing skirmishes vs the easy AI. The experience needs to allow for a wider range of playstyles.

2020年1月16日 · Unlike Empire Earth 2 with a score hovering in the mid 90's, the sequel Empire Earth 3 appeared to have killed the series dead - coming in at a 50% on Metacritic. EE1 and 2 were such fantastic games in the RTS genre, they really do deserve a comeback.

2024年4月18日 · The RTS genre isn't really shrinking, it's very very slowly growing or staying flat. It's the relatively enormous growth of other genres like Action-Adventure, Battle Royale, MOBA, aRPG, First/Third-Person Shooter and so on that make it appear that it's shrinking.
