[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9242, February 10, 2004 ] AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE USE OF THE PHILIPPINE TROPICAL FABRICS FOR UNIFORMS OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

(j) Textile Producer – R.A. No. 9242-qualified local manufacturer engaged in the production of textiles, using locally-sourced NTFs, through spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, and/or finishing.

Republic Act No. 9242 mandates the use of Philippine tropical fabrics for uniforms of public officials and employees, aiming to promote patriotism, support local manufacturing, and generate employment and benefits for the country.
