The Chroma HDK uses Razer's own proprietary strips that have 16 LEDs each, up to 4 strips on the HDK. Strips are automatically detected, but the HDK only includes 2 and you have to buy the other 2 separately.

These strips have the IC built directly into the LED so there is no interpretation of the colour order - the connection between the RGB outputs on the IC and the RGB inputs on the LED is standardized and fixed.

You can connect multiple addressable RGB devices, as long as the LED count doesn't exceed 80 on 1 port, or 240 total. There are 6 addressable headers on the Razer Chroma Addressable RGB Controller, and you can daisy-chain your ARGB devices to have more connected.
