2019年5月3日 · I agree that the technology in RE2 Remake was extremely out of place. That remote/key combo for a 1980's Chevy Caprice drove me nuts. All of the police cars were 1980's Chevy Caprice look-alikes. No 1990's Crown Victoria like the original had. Marvin's laptop looked like a model from the early 1990's, yet it was streaming live video wirelessly.

The original Resident Evil 2 is a classic, and it holds a special place in my heart. I remember playing it when it came out in 1998 and thinking it was a great sequel to the original. I have played this game A LOT! But, I think overall the RE2 Remake is a better game because it took everything awesome about the original RE2 and made it better.

I was too young to play the original RE2 until 2010-ish, but I think the remake straight up replaces the original. The original is more than 20 years old and hasn't aged well: dated graphics, dated mechanics, and bad voice acting. For people who didn't grow up with the original and thus have no nostalgia factor, the remake is far better.

Why? RE5 takes place in 2009, 11 years after RE2. Sherry was already 12 there, so 23 during RE5. This franchise loves dropping in new female supporting cast for a single game only who are in their 20s, then promptly drop them.
