So yea I'm thinking about re-aquascaping my 8ft x 3ft reef tank and not because I'm crazy but because I need to get as much hair algae off these rocks as possible! 2023年12月16日 · I had seahorses which do better in tall tanks. I found it challenging at first to use the upper third of the tank. Eventually I learned a few tricks however. 1. is a deep sand bed. 5" of sand helps lift up the aquascape, ha ha 5"! So a 24" high tank has been reduced to 19" and you get the benefits of denitrification when the sandbed matures. 2.

This does apply to reef aquascaping also. Look at your reef as a piece of living art. Take your time with this process and really plan it out.

Focal points, depth, balance, etc. I think shallow tank and deeper tanks scapes are roughly the same. But with a shallow tank height/depth become more exaggerated and to me fuller/more appealing.
