rx-79系列機動戰士是日本科幻作品機動戰士gundam中登場的一個虛構兵器系列。 它是高達世界觀中的主力兵器機動戰士（Mobile Suit，MS）的一種。 RX-79系列機動戰士最早登場於1996年的開始發售的OVA動畫片機動戰士GUNDAM第08MS小隊。

该机是一年战争时期地球联邦军的现场改装机体，是由损伤的rx-79[g] 陆战型高达修复而成的高达型ms。 在公国军拉萨基地攻略战中，Ez8被阿普萨拉斯Ⅲ大破，但成功击坠了阿普萨拉斯Ⅲ，之后坠落到了废弃矿山的火山口中。

本机是以与阿普撒拉斯Ⅱ战斗后大破的RX-79【G】陆战型高达为原型使用预备部件进行修复、改良后所得到的机体，因此是只此一机、别无分号。机名中的Ez-8是“Extra Zero 8”的缩写。
