Annual gathering that brings together RYLA campers, staff, alumni, and rotarians in honor of Past District Governor, Dave Ditto.

RYLA aims to: Demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth; Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders; Encourage leadership of youth by youth; and ; Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities.

After two years of planning and recruiting experienced counselors from other Rotary camp programs through the country, the first Camp RYLA 5170 showcased a selection of speakers that included a two-time Olympic Boxing Coach, the President of Fleet Feet Sports, and a Dale Carnegie instructor.

District 5170 is a collection of 63 unique community clubs that together form one of Rotary's strongest districts. Clubs are located in Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.

All of the RYLA staff is overseen by the 5170 RYLA Support Staff which serves at the behest of the past, present and future District Governors from Districts 5170. All RYLA staff onsite at camp are required to be LiveScanned and to complete District 5170’s Youth Protection Training, which includes special training on Mandated Reporting.

This is the official flickr of RYLA 5170. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award. This rotary camp is sponsored by Rotary District 5170. Every year high school students are selected to attend RYLA for leadership demonstrated at school or in the community.
