2015年9月8日 · I don't have a 22A-1, but a friend at the range had a frame crack a few months ago (saw the event, it was a very well-used with 10s of thousands of rounds, so not completely a surprise). He sent it in, and they sent him a .22 Compact as a replacement, explaining that they no longer had new frames to replace the original.

2020年10月10日 · The 22A/A-1 and the earlier 422, 622, and 2206 models were the entry level S&W .22's that were meant to compete against the Ruger Mark I & II series pistols. Sure, they don't cost $1,200+ and aren't fancy blued steel with wooden grips, but that's a whole 'nuther class of handgun as far as I'm concerned.

2024年8月5日 · My 22A had multiple problems from the time it left the factory in 1997. Feed ramp had a sharp lip on it that shaved projectiles and peeled case mouth back. Some polishing on the feed ramp helped a ton. Later on I noticed the barrel retaining stud was loose and the gun was sent back to S&W for a new barrel.

2011年10月23日 · This is just a head's up for anyone ordering a Red Dot Sight for a S&W 22A-1. MAKE SURE you order a sight built on a Wever-Style base rather than one for a Standard Microgrove 3/8" Rimfire Style base if you have a pistol with the top rail like mine. I've had to change my Red Dot order today to one for the Weaver-Style base on the 22A-1 (see photo).

2016年6月9日 · While cleaning my 22A I forgot to hold my hand over the spring and spacer and out they popped. The spring went one way and the spacer went the other. I finally found the spacer up under a little corner shelf stand. It had to pop over my should to get there. I had some break down problems with my 22A and had to send it to S & W service.

2017年2月23日 · Repeated sighting adjustmets finally led to rear part of sighting ramp breaking off. Pistol returned to S&W. Ramp and barrel replace. Then frame broke TWICE. Returned to S&W two times more. S&W returned a 22a-1. Works fine ... so far. Google '22a broken frame wildhorse mesa' for details. Positive is that S&W employees are fun to talk with.

2011年3月15日 · I'm new to the S-W Forum and hope y'all can set me in the right direction... I have a 22a (5.5" barrel) I bought new in 2006 at Academy Sports. To date, I have about 500-600 rounds through the gun, but it jams at least once or twice every 20 shots or so.
