
SIAI-Marchetti S.211 - Wikipedia
The SIAI-Marchetti S.211 (later Aermacchi S-211) is a turbofan -powered military trainer aircraft designed and originally marketed by Italian aviation manufacturer SIAI-Marchetti. SIAI-Marchetti started to develop the S-211 in 1976 as a private venture initiative, announcing its existence during the following year.

2019年5月19日 · It is a tandem two-seat aircraft with Martin Baker Mk 10 zero-zero ejection seats fitted with a JT115D-4C turbofan and is fitted with four hardpoints under the wings. The first of three prototypes flew on 10 April 1981 and the first production aircraft for the first customer, the Republic of Singapore Airforce, flew on 4 October 1984.

These aircraft were based at RAAF Pearce north of Perth Western Australia with the RSAF Flight Training School. The fleet of S211's based at Pearce have been retired in favor of Pilatus PC-21's.

It was never used by Aeronautica Militaire (Italian Air Force), but it was sold to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) who took 25 including 15 delivered as kits for local assembly.
