2020年8月4日 · Right now the machine has stopped booting at all. See page 110 of the Fuel Hardware Owner's Guide (attached) which gives some diagnostic ideas. The L1 controller (via the "L1 diagnostic port") may also yield some clues and more verbose error messages.

2013年4月30日 · Silicon Graphics Fuel. The fuel by many was regarded as a later replacement for the O2. I think that it was definitely a more flexible and expandable workstation versus the O2, albeit still only a uni-processor system. The Fuel was also one of the SGI systems that more closely resembled a PC form factor.

Fuel was the last MIPS based workstation made by SGI. Sometimes it is considered a successor to the O2 because it was the lowest priced SGI at it's time, but it is actually a mid-range workstation und thus a successor to the Octane. The Fuel is based on the same technology as the high end server systems Origin 3000.

2019年2月8日 · This documents my recent Fuel ATX power supply conversion. I had a chance to get a Fuel with a bad PSU, and so I needed to power up my new Fuel! These are the things I researched, parts that I got, and the procedure I took for a successful installation of a new ATX PSU for my Fuel.

Fuel has 4X faster SCSI than Octane (U160 instead of UW, with U320 optional via LSI PCI cards), 2X faster 66MHz PCI (4 slots on 2 buses built-in as standard!), 2X faster RAM, 2X faster system/RAM bandwidth, better RAM latency (ie. faster access time) and produces less noise.
